The Jacob Farney Foundation has been established by the friends of Jacob Farney to carry out community service projects in memory of Jacob's spirit for volunteerism and his smile. From time to time the family will post new projects here.
Mr. and Mrs. Farney have selected the John Deemer School at 97th and Lamar as the site of the Jacob Farney Memorial Project this year. We need a lot of volunteers to make this successful. The plan is to remove old benches, install new benches, and work on the soil and drainage issues for the ball field.

Jacob Louis Farney
We have lost a member of the Troop 91 family and a very dear friend. Jacob Farney died at his home on Tuesday the 13th of January 2009.
Jacob will always be remembered as a friend to all, for his perpetually cheerful spirit, and for his eagerness to volunteer when service was needed. Scouting was a big part of his life, where he made many friends and where he made a lasting impression on so many.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awake in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there.
I did not die.

Jacob is a beautiful, wonderful, unique and kind soul who graced all the people he knew with a special love that can not be described. Although he left us far too soon, we are all so grateful to have known him and felt his touch. We all love Jacob very much.
